Brantley Strickland
He was honored by the S.C. Economic Developers’ Association (SCEDA) as the organization’s 2025 Rising Star, an award given annually to members who have impacted their professional organization in a short period of time and have exemplified a growing impact on economic development across the state.
Strickland has worked in economic development for 11 years and is one of only 44 individuals who is a Certified SC Economic Developer (SCCED) having earned the designation in 2019. Prior to joining CCEA, Strickland served as a project manager with Dorchester County Economic Development, where he contributed to an award-winning team for three years. He also spent eight years with SouthernCarolina Alliance, working across multiple counties and serving as lead economic development professional for Hampton and Jasper counties. Throughout his career, he has been known for forging strategic partnerships and generating investment opportunities for the communities he serves.
Brantley is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He has completed multiple regional leadership programs and serves on SCEDA’s Board of Directors, where he chairs the Public Relations Committee.
Before launching his career in economic development, Strickland was a journalist, most notably serving as sports editor and managing editor of the (Walterboro) Press & Standard, where he earned more than 40 state and national awards.
He is active with multiple organizations within the Walterboro area, including service as President of the Colleton County Gamecock Club and a member of the Williams United Methodist Church Board of Trustees.
Brantley and his wife Amie reside in Walterboro with their two children, J.D. and Anna Grace.

Donna Lamb
Donna is a native of Colleton County. She joined the CCEA in March of 2021 and has worked for Colleton County for 16 years. Before joining CCEA, she worked for the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon joining the CCEA, Donna discovered she has a passion for economic development and improving her community. She has a thirst for knowledge of the economic development process and has taken several steps toward her professional development. Donna graduated from South Carolina Economic Developer’s Association (SCEDA) Institute in 2022 and completed her Basic Economic Development Certificate at the University of North Carolina in 2024. More recently, she graduated from The Santee Cooper Envoy Program, an intensive study in public utilities.
Donna is also a graduate of Leadership Colleton and is an active member of SCEDA and the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC). One of Donna’s greatest passions is meeting new people and helping them be successful in Colleton County.
When she’s not working for the betterment of Colleton County, you will likely find Donna teaching a fitness class, gardening or at the beach.
Donna has two sons, Kyle and Charlie, who also reside in Colleton County.
